This book is to PowerPoint "art" what "The Tao of Photography" is to the art of  photography.

The author proposes that the current conventional thinking about designing and delivering presentations is both boring and ineffective. He proposes a more "minimalistic" / "zen" approach whereas the slides are designed to distill the essence of the message and are not designed as crossover handout/slide. This "more is less" type of approach appeals to me and I truly enjoyed the book. The guidance provided is useful and some of the examples in the book are very engaging. While I am eager to apply Mr. Reynolds approach to my presentations, I wonder how these would work in a technical presentation setting. While I can see the approach being very effective in a marketing or sales setting, the effectiveness for technical training is not as clear to me. That said, the book has much to teach and is a truly enjoyable read. Recommended.
