Suprarectangulism
Today I announce the birth of a new art movement: suprarectangulism. That’s right; you heard it here first: a new art movement... Indeed, the term is so new that my spellchecker highlights it in bright red; I’m very proud. I’m sure the good folks at the Oxford English dictionary are taking note, and this omission will soon be fixed. But in the meantime, what is suprarectangulism, you ask? As influential art critic Antonivish Fullov Pompus* puts it:
“Suprarectangulism is the natural evolution of modern abstract cubism. While the latter focuses on the delineation of the self from the trappings of the id; the former extends the canvas towards the arena of rectilinearity - where reality is distilled to its primordial components.”
